which came first, the chicken or the egg cup?

i thought i would re-post these adorable egg cups because a) it's almost easter and b) they look so cute with these little peeps from anthropologie. to recap, my mom brought the egg cups back from her trip to london in february. they're martin gulliver designs and they are precious. thanks again, mum. i really do love them!
