sewing 101

sew
last week, i bought the sew mini sewing machine. *yay!* it arrived yesterday. *double yay!* i unpacked it. it's very beautiful and sparkly. it even has a foot pedal! but, there is no thread. and if there was thread, i'd have no idea what to do with it. help.

it only took me three years of owning a sewing machine before i could change the bobbin without consulting the manual. sigh.

i did try following books but found it was much better to sign up for a short sewing class to get down all the basics and also have someone physically show me what to do. my class was at an ac moore-ish type store over here, so i bet there are things like that at similar stores where you are.

good luck!

Hey Holly, your machine also comes in hello kitty flavor at Target.

I have the green Sew Pretty Hello Kitty machine from target by Janomi. It is slightly bigger than the Sew Mini and it also works well. Sewing is a lot of fun. I highly recommend taking a class.
