pretty plates and napkins

plates
jenny and i are throwing a baby shower for our dear friend cristi a week from saturday. the invitation (from doc*milo) turned out precious and now we are on the hunt for the perfect plates and napkins. we were hoping to find a spring green polka dot, but the greens we've been seeing are too pastel. we wanted more pop. i'm thinking we may have to change our tune a little and go for black and white. i like these black and white damask plates from plates and napkins. what do you think? could we throw in a spring green houndstooth napkin or would a solid be better?

love this color combo. lovely. i would stick to yellow/black/white and run with it. it'll make more of a bold statement. have fun!! this looks posh & pretty.

I dig the houndstooth napkins with the damask plates. Very cool.

the green with the black and white damask plates work out real fresh and crisp and so modern!! why not have two types of green napkins? the houndstooth and the plain green? mmmmm what about kate spade green cups/mugs? how fun!

Plates are great. I agree with Drey with the two types of napkins. Good choices - all of them. I don't think you can go wrong here, Holly.

I love those plates but I would try to tie in with the theme with more polka dots... but I'm a little obsessed :D

By looking at the date of your event, you should be almost ready by now. But I gave you my suggestion anyway. It can be useful for another time or one of your readers.

First, the Doc Milo lime green invitation looks great. I will match the invites with these plates Inviting Company - Album: Partyware - IH 2006 - Product: 47668, also available at finestationary.com. This dinner plate features colorful (green, pink and brown) circle designs on a brown background with a pink edge. The nice green on the circle fits with your invitations.

For the napkins, a mix of solid greens and solid pink napkins create something more interesting than usual a single color.

I love damask, and i hand paint glassware, so i knew i had to paint a damask table setting. I loved the plates that you chose, and i so love the herringbone, i may have to paint one!! If you want to see the plate i painted you can go to my site: www.jbeedesigns.com.
Let me know what you think!!!
