in stitches

sew
so, (ha!) i've been having some trouble finding eddie a new dog bed. the cute ones are so expensive and he chews them, so i've been thinking maybe i could make one myself. i've been toying around with getting a sewing machine for forever, and this seems like as good a time as any. trouble is, i don't know how to sew. can anyone recommend an easy-to-use starter sewing machine that won't break the bank?

I've read on several blogs that this is a good starter machine. I'm thinking of getting it myself.

If the link doesn't work, search for "sew mini" on the Home Depot site. This is only available thru their website I believe.

it may also be worth it to keep an eye out for an inexpensive one from a garage sale -- that's how i got mine (and how my friend cat got hers). it works perfectly and -- added bonus! -- has a cute retro look.
