go green

green
on sunday, tripper gave me such a nice surprise: a get out of jail—erm the house—free pass for a few hours. i went over to jenny's, where "craft day" was in full effect. i painted a penguin on a blue background that turned out ok, and i also started this green painting. i mixed the color to match perfectly the green in our monkey painting and the lampshade. now, what should i paint on it? what do you think would be fun next to mr. monkey? it's eight inches square. keep in mind i have no idea how to paint.

for some reason I would like to see a polka dotted bow tie painted. but really I don't think that makes any sense, that is just the first thing that popped into my head.

what about bananas ... or a whole bowl of fruit? something really color like the monkey? what about even some fun fish?

How about some large yellow bananas or more of the flowers he is holding. Fill up most of the canvas with just the blooms using the orange and red colors. You could try to mimic the artist's style. Good Luck! Please show us what you do!

My first (obvious) thought was a bright yellow banana! Or maybe a vase (for the flowers he's holding) or even just a canvas of different brightly colored stripes?

I thought that was a Lila Graves as soon as I saw it. I want one so badly and I think one would be especially perfect in my little girl' "big girl room" that I am starting on. Did you buy it at a gallery?

I like the idea of doing more flowers or the bright stripes- or both!

tiffany, i bought it straight from her. i originally spotted it at the trinity school's annual art show on a saturday. my plan was to go back sunday and get it. i had no idea the show ended that saturday. i got in touch with the school and they relayed my information to her. she called me and we worked out all the details. about a week later it came to my house!
